Iran to offer special plan at tourism event

The Iranian tourist association has planned to provide special facilities to the participants of the 17th World Federation of Tourist Guide Association (WFTGA) Convention in Tehran.

The Iran Federation of Tourist Guide Association (IFTGA) will host the event in the Iranian capital, Tehran, from January 28 to February 1, with a total of 306 foreign and 117 Iranian tourist guides expected at the event.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony.

President of IFTGA Arash Nouraqaee said an Airbus A300-600 will provide full-charter services for tour programs that are planned to be held after the convention.

“According to an agreement signed between IFTGA and the Meraj Airlines (an Iranian private airline), full-charter services will be offered,” he said.

The post–convention tour is set to take the participants to the historic Iranian cities of Shiraz, Yazd and Isfahan on February 1-4.

A number of attendees have also requested a pre-convention tour, which will take them to the illustrious Iranian cities of Qazvin, Zanjan and Hamedan on January 25-27.

In addition, IFTGA has signed an agreement with telecom company HamrahVAS to provide SIM cards and internet services for the guests.

Iran will host the biannual event for the first time, where tour guides from more than 70 countries will get acquainted with Iran’s tourism potentials.

The association is aimed to link tourist guide associations throughout the world, to strengthen their professional activities and protect the interests of expert tourist guides.

Tehran will host the 17th WFTGA Convention with the motto of ‘Iran; Friendly Faces, Open Arms, Ancient Cultures, Timeless Charms’.
